The jeweler will be primarily responsible for delicate jeweler detailing ( cast cleaning) of precious metal jewelry (platinum,silver, and gold) in order to prepare pieces for diamond setting. Jeweler's other responsibility will be to train new employees in the cast cleaning department on cast cleaning processes, procedures and jeweler techniques and quality standards in accordance with the Cast Cleaning Training Program. When jeweler is not acting in the capacity of a trainer, they will assist in production, in-sourcing and qualification initiatives as well as process improvement.
Communicate with manager, supervisor and team lead on all issues pertaining to training and milestone objectives being missed and work as a team to resolve these issues
When not training personnel, jeweler will assist in qualification in-sourcing (to include the development of quality standards) and in the communication of new work instructions and standards to the team. Work as a production jeweler when required
Participate in the implementation of new processes and provide feedback and assistance to the team lead and supervisor to ensure that best practices are followed for the benefit of the department
Be aware and adhere to all company policies and procedures to include (but not limited to) attendance and health &safety
Required
Qualifications:
Knowledge of jewelry manufacturing and at least 3 years of jeweler experience
Must have effective presentation skills in order to communicate training program requirements.
Ability to learn and train others on jewelry techniques, quality standards, tools and processes associated with cast cleaning precious metals
Needs to be able to work closely with trainees to ensure that they are ready to move on to the next level in a specified time frame and be able to personalize training when needed.
Must have strong computer skills and ability to learn how to use Hi-Def camera video equipment for training purposes.
Ability to work in production environment
